The mystical experience of Abū al-Ḥasan al Šāḏilī is distinguished by its unique spatial setting. His retreat to the slopes of a mountain and seclusion within a cave formed the foundation of a deeply symbolic and spiritually rich path. In this secluded environment, he attained insights and mystical knowledge unmatched by his predecessors and contemporaries.
